NO POVERTY

Poverty involves more than the lack of income and productive resources to ensure sustainable livelihoods. Through hunger and malnutrition, limited access to education and other basic services, social discrimination and exclusion as well as the lack of participation in decision-making are well manifested.

At the societal level, high poverty rates can be a damper on economic growth and be associated with problems like crime, unemployment, urban decay, education, and poor health. Governments often put social welfare programs in place to help lift individuals, families, and communities out of poverty. But this has never been enough, because of far than greater demands chasing limited supplies.

According to the United Nations, "The World Social Summit identified poverty eradication as an ethical, social, political and economic imperative of mankind and called on governments to address the root causes of poverty, provide for basic needs for all and ensure that the poor have access to productive resources, including credit, education and training. Recognizing insufficient progress in the poverty reduction, the 24th special session of the General Assembly devoted to the review of the Copenhagen commitments, decided to set up targets to reduce the proportion of people living in extreme poverty by one half by 2015."

TSHEM Care Foundation is committed to bridging the gap between poverty and social efficiency. Through our social integration programmes, we are resolved to push pivotal effort at the creation of platforms for would-be entrepreneurs to acquire relevant skills for sustainable entrepreneurship.

We look to build a multi-dimensional TCF skill acquisition hub that will bring entrepreneurial minds together in one place, with partnership investment the viable fulcrum.

ZERO HUNGER

Hunger is not brought about by the shortage of food alone, the combination of natural, social, and political forces also play an alarming role. Through the movement of time, natural resources that are necessary for human survival—like freshwater, the ocean, forests, soils, and more—are declining.

Climate change is contributing to the degeneration of precious resources, as severe weather events, like droughts, become more common and affect harvests, leading to less food for human consumption.

Indeed, with the persistence of these problems, the world needs sustainable solutions to adequately feed each person on the planet. As of today, there are around 815 million people who are hungry. This number is only expected to increase as the years go on; the UN estimates that two billion more people will be undernourished by 2050.

TSHAM Care Foundation [TCF] is driven to push a viable solution. We have structured a network that mobilizes food chain support to tackle the menace of hunger around us. Through consistent support and partnership, we believe we can end hunger in our immediate communities, thereby contributing to making sure that enough nutritious foods are available to people by 2030. We trust that through the communities, sustainable solutions will be found to stop world hunger.

GOOD HEALTH AND WELL BEING

Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. Well-being is a feeling of satisfaction with life, a state characterized by good health, happiness, and prosperity. Good health concerns the care of the human body and everything that can be done to protect it from sickness and intoxication and enable access to care.

Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages is important to building prosperous societies. However, despite great strides in improving people’s health and well-being in recent years, inequalities in health care access still persist.

According to the United Nations, more than six million children still die before their fifth birthday each year, and only half of all women in developing regions have access to the health care they need.

Considering the global pandemic of COVID-19, there is a need to give significant attention to the realization of good health and well-being, both in our local communities and on a global scale.

TSHAM Care Foundation has it a civic responsibility to raise awareness in our local communities about the importance of good health, healthy lifestyles as well as people’s right to quality health care services. Through bilateral collaborations, we will move to derive technical interventions for immediate and considerable medical emergencies for the most vulnerable in more communities.

QUALITY EDUCATION: FOR EVERY CHILD

Education is a primary driver of progress. From enabling upward socio economic mobility to being crucial to fostering tolerance and more peaceful societies, education is an indispensable key to escaping poverty. It helps reduce inequalities and reach gender equality and has a direct impact on the realization of all human rights.

Ensuring quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for every child, irrespective of socioeconomic background is essential for economic and social prosperity, and for the well-being of all. But sadly, many children don't have the priviledge to.

Education according to claim by The Global Partnership for Education "is an inalienable right of every human being. It promises to free all citizens from the shackles of ignorance, poverty and disempowerment, and endow them with the capacity to be architects of their own destiny, and catalysts of entrepreneurship, innovation and global citizenship.”

At TSHAM Care Foundation, we strongly believe that no child should be deprived of the opportunity to learn, discover, grow and attain his or her goals in life—every child deserves the right to quality education, propelling our desire to reach the most vulnerable children by working together to address barriers to quality education that put many children at a disadvantage—whether as a result of gender inequality, economic poverty, special educational needs, physical disability, language, or other barriers.

Our commitment is to empower the potential of every child under our radar in a holistic way that is physical, linguistic, social, cognitive and sensory through; to make sure they have quality education.

In all capacity, TCF is building a support system that gives children from unprivileged background the unbridged access to quality education. We welcome your partnership.
